Bandlands

Sanford Barnett with that Yankee cap, or now a days its the Warrior Cap just got that right twist off center look you know.. my man Sanford..there he is a again bearing down playing this riffs those modal triads jazz mystery funk guitar riffs
that hot stuff keeping a fire burning.

Particularly down at the 4th Street Tavern on Tuesday Nights right now his Surreal band laying a little low he's brought it down to a quartet on Tuesdays. Taylor Cutcomb is out and about, Dana Miller one of a number of drummers that are part of
Sanfords ensemble of friends also not been there so much but the quartet is just basking in a sweet fire lately.

It's a very friendly popping little Jazz scene. If you want to know where the fire is in Marin County come on out on a Tuesday night in San Rafael. The Tavern has begun calling it Sanford & Friends.. Sanford himself didn't seem too thrilled with that title. I think it is fine. Getting stronger all the time very strong scene you could transplant this little band to some club in Manhattan ... heck yeah these guys would be stirring it up there and all the hip Manhattanites would be ... who knows this scene is better than Manhattan believe me who could ask for a better scene than a place where people are dancing to 'Jazz' people don't know how to dance to jazz in Manhattan. (Maybe I am wrong)
Just a quartet on Tuesdays man oh man I am telling you this stuff is worth checking out!
Paul Edwards on Bass and Ryan Low on drums.
Paul is new... high energy.
Ryan has been around for awhile.
Ryan is F*n out of control.. what a great drummer!

Pushes that band
whooo!
Craig Shaw on Sax/ Just a young cat on Sax he is no great star ... yet.
Blows strong though and the transformation, very cool...
Seems like more potent every time..
caught him last show going into that screechy over the top thing... I'll hang with you whatever you want to say... but it ain't necessary as far as I am concerned... keep the hot syrup flowing.
Sanford with  Angeline Saris on Bass another night at 19 Broadway.

Sanford has some players you don't know who you might see at any night.

Oh yeah this band played at The Music in The Park deal in San Anselmo you may have heard of... here's a taste, a little documentation
of a hot Sunday afternoon in the Park with Surreal.
