The music just keeps rolling.
Well this site was completely off line last week. My fault. My
apologies. Credit card snafu financial angst. Apologies for all the
bad links.. this site is going to pick it up and rock.
The summer of Music in the Park has come to an end. 7 shows took
place in Creek Park San Anselmo. Chrome Johnson brought the whole
experience to its rocking finale. Bravo to the boys for playing two
1/2 hours without a break that was not part of the contract but they
followed the precedents set by Tom Finch and his marvelous band and
the wild and wonderful Bonnie Hayes. Thank you all for a great
season. I am going to relax a bit ... phew!! and then ... get
back in gear.
Besides Bonnie Hayes stellar performance last weekend in the
Park there was Vikki Lee and her Pinecones featuring the awesome
Albert Lee up in Winters. Video is in the Q and should be up real
soon from
three great performances.
Fabulous performances.
Here are a couple of more from the series...
If you like a little different something for the hardcore
music adventurer...
little more of Kundalini
BoomBox who opened up for Tom Finch I had to share some of their
music with Robert Powell's fine Pedal Steel as the first clip
featured Robert on his Telecaster.
Or for the traditionalist Kevin Brennan's version of this
Thin Lizzie tune..
Just got back from 19 Broadway where Danny was playing his
Tuesday gig we reviewed this footage including the Virgil
incidents that was on the patio with friends and it garnered quite a
bit of laughter.. Danny says go ahead and run with it and though I
have some concerns about getting permission from Virgil's folks
(unlisted number) since their son gets quite a starring role Danny
says if they didn't bother keeping an eye on their kids in the Park
.. then they'll be OK. Actually I know Virgil's parents and they are
very cool people maybe we'll get Virgil's Dad to play one of these
years. Awesome Bass.
It looks like I was a little rough with Virgil.. I don't think
I was, just
pretty abrupt rescuing my performers.. I had him in a half nelson on
my lap for most of the remaining tune.
Virgil has more history. Last year at the Fairfax Festival
with the MotherTruckers that's right the kid with the the ukelele...
that was Virgil.
Primarily this Video is a music video featuring this
band Chrome Johnson I have never found the words to describe but
these are the boys when you need that Spirit Liberation (yeah I know
they drink .. too much, oh well!) they will bust you out. These are
two tunes both in this blues trance groove stuff.
'Awful Fix Blues'
and 'That's No Way to Get Along'
