Bandlands

  December 18 , 2006

Christmas time is upon me and us all. Solstice in a couple of days. I hope you all are getting some dose of Rock and Roll even it is just sitting in the car with the Radio on. Loud when the music is right.

Mr Bandlands here has been stuck in a taxi in San Rafael with those lowdown blues again. Holy Cow it is ... Allright!

and Don't have a cow while you are at it...Guy...?..ouch

.... Share that giving Vibe. I have seen a lot of that this year.

Honey Dust photos from that wild show back early December 3 are sitting in a lab waiting for me to have the money to spring them free. Great show at the venerable Great American Music Hall. Honey Dust rose mightily to the occasion in their best performance
as a band probably ever on the big stage. Rock and Roll is just not deemed commercially viable.. is that too strong a statement. (Think Rolling Stones Guy!) The judges at the Bodog national battle of the bands went with Strifer at the SF local competition with a strong performance of a mostly Metal style of Rock  and the guys in that band as the judges may have noticed were  teenagers who played friendly and will probably be perfect for the Reality TV show they hope to put together down in Hollywood of these contending bands hoping for the 'Million Dollar' contract and all the Glory.

I was in Berkeley December 9 for this screening of Rare Rock video night produced by Richie Unterberger ... awesome experience... I am hoping to bring Richie's show to Marin maybe 19 Broadway we'll see. Totally inspiring....! Yardbirds, Who... the Beatles Yeah Baby that shit from the 60's... Wow!!

I am reading one of his books too.. 8 Miles High Folk-Rock from Haight Ashbury to Woodstock...
a very good read, full of nuggets of musical history, and people and bands that you wish you heard or maybe I'll get to find their music someday.

according to his website every show he does is different.

The history isn't over and the Hidden Rock and Roll legends live on particularly here at Bandlands!

Hey sports loving Music fans look at this.. Peter Gammons Rocks.

Come on Guy Come on Guy!!! Pick it up!!

See you around the bend.
