Bandlands

 There is so much I could be telling you all about the vibrant and changing Marin County Music scene.. Maybe I should just try. When I say 'Vibrant' I wish I could mean even more like 'Popping' like out of our heads great bands fueling up and lifting off all over the place. It depends on your perspective.

 Honey Dust entered some Bodog Battle of the Bands first prize Million dollar recording contract and back on Monday took the first round beating out some pretty good Heavy Metal and Pop Bands, Darren told me I wasn't there.. but I can only share in the thrill as the MC announced the winner on stage ....  'Give it up for San Francisco Rock and Roll.... Honey Dust!' They have another round out here in October where it's all of NorCal and some of Nevada being represented. Win that and they are on to 5 days in Hollywood for the big filmed spectacular. The National playoff.

 Danny Uzilevsky former Chrome Johnson creative force still has been doing his Tuesday Nights solo but that is changing. This project that he and Darren have been working on behind the scenes is starting to get public. Tuesday Nights are now "The Riverside Kings' night as Danny and Darren are starting to reveal this rock opera. Maybe it's called the Riverside Kings from what I have been able to figure out it's about two brothers, fast cars, guns and I don't know what else except its taking shape and the songs have a Moody Force to them that's pretty interesting to speak way too lightly of it.. it's cinematic stuff, maybe 50's style, film noir, probably a Tarantino Film, forget I said that .. anyways it's unfolding, it's music.

 So much going on I can't keep up with it. I have been working on the booking for San Anselmo's annual Country Fair Days on Sunday October 15 you might want to mark your calendar and make the trip up here. Honey Dust, The Billy Boys, Jelly a bunch of our favorite players on the Acoustic Stage it's all free.. Good Fun.

  Vikki Lee just sent me her pics from the studio with legendary Rocker Glenn Glenn. Yes a visit and interview with Steve Howe, legendary Steve Howe, took place. Yes Indeed. Vikki is a filmmaker in her own right and is working with John Bryant, son of legendary pedal steel player Jimmy Bryant interviewing some of the greatest stars on the Planet. Yes indeed its all one big Legend here on Planet Earth as the Musicians go forth battling all the obstacles of existence to just have another day with you making Music.

 Come on out to the Benefit for the Ornithologist thrown in some crappy Prison in Mexico probably for the crime of being an intelligent caring human being. That's October 1. I have to work that night but I will be there early in the day.


 I don't know where I am going again I am particularly brain befogged tonight and would be out happily I would hope, driving my cab if it were not for the Food Poisoning apparently I got last night, that explains Darren, why I fled mid set from the Tavern on a fine celebratory night for Honey Dust. I was up all last night and finally much to my dismay & surprise & ultimate relief it was about 8AM that I sent back the way it had came that which  ..... 

I know TMI.

 I still have very high dreams for Bandlands and how it can move to serve us all both Musicians and Music Lovers in a really effective and delightful way.
