Well I still haven't slowed down sufficiently in life to reflect on hardly anything.

But some of you know I was back in Mexico this past summer for a six day sojourn in the state of Chihuahua in the towns of Saucillo and Delicias. It's time to unveil some sweet sweet music from the Party held in my friend Ventura's back yard. A 'Pachanga' Ventura called it. I had never heard that term but I awaited the big event bringing all the local musicians from the town of Saucillo together for some music and yeah just some fun.

There is this tune if you follow along with the Beat you know I happen to like a great deal it maybe the national anthem of Mexico. Probably not but I think it is worthy.

Cielito Lindo. The classic and all the players knew that Guy wanted to hear that tune. It seemed like it was late into the night when it came around. I drank too much Tequila I never will do that again. It was a great little party. I am not sure if this qualifies as a definitive version of Cielito Lindo I think it does capture the pure essence of Mexico Soul, Ventura's great voice the very fine accordion work of Elias and all the Voices raised together Aarggh even mine yeah that.. Oh well next time I will shut up. It was just at the end.

The lyrics and the tune written somewhere back in the 19th century are really quite special. Cielito Lindo translates to Blue Sky or beautiful sky and that is a term of Love and endearment the singer sings for his beauty...

Coming down from the Mountains her pair of dark eyes are contraband.. Los ojos negros son contrabando.

Then 'ese lunar que tienes cielito lindo junto a la boca, no se lo des a nadie Cielito Lindo a mi me toca.'

This birthmark that you have, Cielito Lindo, next to your mouth. Don't give that to anyone else Cielito Lindo that is for me. Ay Yi YI YI!!!

Canta y no llores.  Porque cantando se alegre Cielito Lindo los corazones.

Sing and don't cry! Because singing Cielito Lindo you make happy all the Hearts.

There are a few other verses that maybe are equally as mysterious, passionate and brilliant.
