So it goes.
Bands come and go and godbless it #^$^%#!!!!
Maybe if this site was actually a functioning site some
of these hot bands out here in the North Bay Area might
reach a few more ears than just the lucky locals.
HoneyDust according to Darren Nelson is coming to an end
this past Saturday's gig at Peri's was just about the
last of the line. Mark your calendar for this summer's
Fairfax Festival June for Saturday's show Honey Dust
will be the third band to go on probably about 3PM, come
on out to the best little Town Fest this side of the
Mississippi a special goodbye party.
December 3rd the Battle of the Bands Million
Dollar Recording Contract was held at the Great American
Music Hall in San Francisco. Honey Dust did not win.
That may have been for the best, who knows. As far as
the best band on the stage that night in my opinion
there was no one even close. Honey Dust rose
magnificently to the occasion and blew the roof off.
Unfortunately the sponsors of the event were looking for
likely some younger demographics. The winning band
Strifer played a metal that was tight, they were young,
friendly and really a pretty good band. They were
probably the second best band there. Honey Dust defied
the demographics defied style, defied everything. They
played this straight ahead pedal to the metal straight
up Rock flavors of ZZ Top and the Stones... with
Darren Nelson's inimitable wicked angelic nature coming
through so strong.
Note a few photos of Strifer and another band in
the mix. |
